The JUNIOR BALLET Alta Formazione is a choreographic centre born within the Centro Formazione AIDA, Scuola di Alta Formazione Professionale per Danzatori, active in Milan since 2008. The JB develops its activity in two distinct areas, but in deep relationship with each other: training on the one hand and choreographic production on the other.
Its mission is to create a bridge, a living, constant and effective link between training and the world of work, offering talented young dancers a unique opportunity to shape their own path and create their own career.
The high level of technical preparation of the young dancers, ensured by teachers of excellence and the guarantee of the AIDA brand, is channelled into a productive structure of professional training, aimed at the creation of new productions, events, and unpublished ballets.
The constant collaboration with internationally renowned choreographers, to seal the performances of the young dancers, enriches the prestige of the offer to the public, inserting by right the JUNIOR BALLET among the most important national choreographic realities.
TWO-YEAR SPECIALISATION COURSE
The training course is aimed at graduate dancers aged between 18 and 25 who wish to deepen and broaden their technical and artistic skills in order to prepare themselves in a complete and structured way for entry into the world of work.
The primary objective of the JB’s Two-Year Postgraduate Course is to guide and accompany dancers who have completed a professional training course, creating eclectic figures, ready to face the complexity and variety of the international dance market, classical dancers with a good technique and a high artistic sense, able to deal with the neoclassical and contemporary repertoire as well.
CHOREOGRAPHIC PRODUCTION
JB represents a real forge of choreographic productions of great impact, ranging from the classical to the neoclassical repertoire, from contemporary to the creation of new works signed by the most important choreographers of the national and international choreographic scene, such as Biagio Tambone, Damiano Artale, Lara Bogni, Francesco Ventriglia, Attila J. Csiki, Stefania Ballone, Alessio Di Stefano, Fabrizio Coppo.
The range of performances that the JB makes available to interested patrons is broad and diverse and features creations of various genres and different durations, depending on requirements.
JB boasts the realisation of shows in prestigious Italian theatres, such as the Teatro Accademico in Bagni di Lucca, the Teatro Alfieri in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, and the Teatro Verdi in Fiorenzuola d’Arda.
It has also taken part in the most important festivals on the national and international choreographic scene, such as the Galà Festival Internazionale di Rapallo; its dancers have also been the protagonists of important events, such as “DanceExplosion” at the Teatro Martinitt and “Waiting for Expo” at the Spazio Mil (as part of the celebrations for EXPO 2015).
JB is also involved every year in important projects such as “Artists of Today and Tomorrow” in collaboration with the Balletto di Milano, and international exchanges, such as “Meet the Artist” in collaboration with the Palucca Hochschule in Dresden.
