Fortezza da Basso


Masterpiece of military architecture of Renaissance, engineered by Antonio da Sangallo il Giovane on behalf of Alessandro de’ Medici and built from 1534 and 1537, Fortezza da Basso is the biggest and most important fair district of entire Tuscany.

Prestigious location of Fortezza da Basso near historical Florentine centre, makes of this fort, privileged place for tourists and visitors coming from Italy and abroad, also for the proximity with central railway station Santa Maria Novella and Florentine airport Amerigo Vespucci.
With a total surface of almost 100.000 sqm, Fortezza da Basso is perfect location for trade shows and congresses, also for its peculiar and varied structure, including attractive historical buildings perfectly renovated (as Quartieri Monumentali or the Polveriera) and modern pavilions specifically built to grant more and more exhibiting space, as the Spadolini Pavilion inaugurated in 1977, which is composed by 3 floors and the recent one Cavaniglia Pavilion opened in 1996.

Danza in Fiera covers about 65.000 sqm of surface with14 pavilions, built and set up to offer every visitor a wide and varied program of events and entertainment. Heart of all activities isSpadolini Pavilion with business booths of leader companies and special spaces for dance studios, dance groups, associations and federations; this pavilion contains also the most important dance rooms dedicated to free classes, masterclasses and prestigious auditions.

All around many other spaces, with 5 stages and 2 dance floors, area set to host shows, contests and competitions, exhibitions, meetings and very much more!
