Alicia Amatriain, dancer of Spanish origin, trained at John Cranko School, joined the Stuttgart Ballet in 1999 and in 2002 was named Principal. In 2015 she was awarded the national title of "Kammertaenzerin", the highest status a dancer can get in Germany.
She has a huge repertoire, and is a guest star in multiple gala and shows around the world, including the Bolshoi Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, Cuban National Ballet, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires and State Ballet of Berlin. In addition, she has been a frequent guest of "Roberto Bolle and Friends" and at the World Ballet Festival in Japan.
Several famous choreographers have created roles for Alicia Amatriain in their ballets, including Wayne McGregor, Itzik Galili, Marco Goecke, Douglas Lee and Demis Volpi, Christian Spuck.
Alicia Amatriain received many honors and prizes such as the Prix Benois de la Danse 2016, the German Theater Prize FAUST in 2015 and the German Dance Prize "Future" in 2006.
